You all know Cathrine Winnes from 2024, when she played a major role at the festival as co-curator alongside Tine. She is one of the most sought-after guest conductors in Scandinavia, and the list of orchestras she has worked with stretches all the way to Johannesburg and Durban.

Winnes studied classical saxophone and music pedagogy at the Norwegian Academy of Music. She is a strong advocate for new repertoire, and for female, often forgotten, composers.

It's our friends at the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra who choose the conductor for our collaboration at Stangholmen, and with the choice of Cathrine we know this is a high priority concert for the orchestra. Just look forward to her bringing out the best in them!
