Fiolinist Arabella Steinbacher

Arabella Steinbacher

Violin

We've been chasing Arabella for years. Finally she's here with her glittering technique and rare gift for making the violin sing. This summer, we've landed an intuitive violin star.

About the Artist

What a player.

Fiona Maddocks The Guardian

The reason Arabella is one of the most sought-after violinists in the world is her ability to let both instrument and music live, without getting lost in technique or other noises.

"I'm an intuitive player," she has said. "For me, it's about making music and letting it grow and develop." She trusts the moment, releases control, and we get to reap the rewards.

Her career began spectacularly in 2004. A colleague fell ill, and the young Steinbacher stepped in on short notice to perform Beethoven's Violin Concerto with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France under Sir Neville Marriner. Talk about seizing the moment. In the US, she's a regular with the "Big Five" orchestras.

We're thrilled beyond measure to welcome this rare talent into our very own music palace, Risør Church. This is going to be something special.

Balanced lyricism and fire – among her assets are a finely polished technique and a beautifully varied palette of timbres.
